Some girls follow trends. Zazanna Narog would rather make sure you remember what she was wearing.
With a wardrobe that moves from pumps to leather boots and a style she describes as completely her own, the model isn’t interested in dressing according to whatever the internet has decided is “in” this week. Her fashion references range from Dior to Betsey Johnson, her modelling dream started with a Michael Jackson music video, and her favourite collections? Spring/Summer 2003. Obviously.
We caught up with Zazanna to talk modelling, personal style, fashion obsessions and why sometimes the most interesting thing you can wear is simply yourself.
Interview Zazanna Narog
01. Okay, we need to know — what’s your current fashion obsession that you can’t stop wearing?
My current fashion obsession? Since it's getting colder I sadly have to retire my pumps and move on to boots. I have this gorgeous pair of leather Tommy Hilfiger ones that go with everything and they are to DIE for!
02. What first made you want to try modeling — was it something you always dreamed about or a random “why not?” moment?
I think I first wanted to be a model after watching a Michael Jackson music video, the one with Tyra Banks? I was so mesmerised by her allure and beauty and realised I want to be like that too.
03. Your ultimate model-off-duty day: where are you going, what are you wearing, and who are you with?If I could walk for any designer? It would have to be Dior or Betsey Johnson! My favourite collections for both of them have to be spring/summer 2003. I love the designs and creativity and I get so entranced watching those fashion shows!
04. If you could walk in one designer’s show tomorrow, whose would it be?
If I could walk for any designer? It would have to be Dior or Betsey Johnson! My favourite collections for both of them have to be spring/summer 2003. I love the designs and creativity and I get so entranced watching those fashion shows!
05. What’s one trend you’re currently loving — and one you’re officially ready to retire?.
A trend I'm loving? To be honest I don't really follow trends. My fashion sense is uniquely my own- all of my outfits are personalised to me, i dont think i could follow a trend without feeling like im nit letting my personality shine through entirely!
